KAVA KAVA Root Extract 30% Kavalactones
(Piper methysticum)

The roots of Kava Kava are used to produce a drink with sedative, anesthetic, euphoriant and entheogenic properties. Kava Kava is consumed throughout the Pacific Ocean cultures of Polynesia, including Hawaii, Vanuatu, Melanesia and some parts of Micronesia for its sedating effects. Its active ingredients are called kavalactones.

When supplementing Kava Kava, a 300mg of this extract daily (in three divided doses of 100mg) appears to be reliable and effective for the treatment of anxiety and other cognitive issues. Doses of up to 800mg of this extract have been tolerated for short periods of time.

Although it is usually taken at multiple times throughout the day with meals, if a single dose per day is being used it tends to be used prior to sleep.

Kava Kava containing products are suspected to interact adversely with drugs and other pharmaceuticals, caution should be used when pairing Kava Kava with other compounds.
